"Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and other opponents of the Constitution natural gas pipeline gathered outside the Capitol Tuesday to urge Gov. Andrew Cuomo to deliver a death blow to the project by denying it state water protection permits. Kennedy, president of the Waterkeeper Alliance, fired up a crowd of about 400 people when he said the project, which would bring hydrofracked natural gas from Pennsylvania into central New York, would "make a few billionaires richer, while our children would pay for their joyride" through environmental damage and ongoing man-made climate change."
"Saying the proposed pipelines are all one system, just like the nations rivers or even our arteries, activists from across the northeast gathered on the east steps of New York's State Capitol to protest the expansion of natural gas pipelines. The environmental rally in Albany, demanded Governor Cuomo not sign the 401 water quality certificate currently sitting on his desk. It would allow the Constitution Pipeline to be built."

The Rally in Albany is our last chance to Stop the Constitution Pipeline. The NYS Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has to make a decision by April 26, 2016. If DEC denies the 401 water quality certificate, we win, but if DEC grants the 401 water quality certificate, we lose. Whatever DEC decides, it will set the precedent for the future of infrastructure projects in New York State – and beyond. If you want to save our trees, streams, and wetlands, and if you want to keep pipelines, compressor stations, and power plants out of your community, then make a commitment to come to Albany on April 5th.
FERC has approved lots of fossil-fuel projects in NY and wants to rubberstamp more. The NYS Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has the power to stop one of these projects right now: the "Constitution" pipeline. But ONLY if it denies the project's water quality certificate by the end of April. Governor Cuomo needs to stop [...]

In January, YOUR calls and emails moved Attorney General Eric Schneiderman to OPPOSE Constitution Pipeline's bullying efforts to cut trees illegally in New York. And IT WORKED. We need you to remind our AG that the "Constitution" Pipeline Company can't push New York around. Yesterday, "Constitution" Pipeline AGAIN asked FERC to allow TREE CUTTING in New York, despite the fact that the company DOES NOT [...]
